How much are we giving away?
  • Exteded weekend programs: $250
  • Long term programs: UP TO $800

Am I eligible?

“Destination: Jewish Service Learning” provides generous grants from the Cooperman Family Foundation that are awarded to civic minded teen applicants, living in the Greater MetroWest region of NJ, as an incentive to engage in Jewish service learning trips.

Applicants may be awarded a grant as long as they meet the following criteria:

1.) You have a personal commitment to social justice and civic mindedness

2.) You desire to participate in a program with a significant amount of hands on community service and Jewish Learning that is brought to life by these service engagements

3.) You agree to attend a pre-departure and a post-return meeting to ground the trip in Jewish Values

4.) You agree to recruit new applicants into the Destination: Jewish Service Learning program after their return

5.) You are a teenager living or going to school in the MetroWest region of New Jersey.

Grants are awarded conditionally, with larger sums generally being awarded to longer programs.  Preference will be given towards applicants who have not participated in Jewish Service Learning programs in the past.

What are the deadlines to apply?

Our team at JTEENgmw approves application requests (reviewing application information, letter of recommendation and interview notes) at certain rounds throughout the year. We encourage early application as the available funds will diminish after each round of application reviews.

*** The Final Round of acceptances for this grant for Summer 2016 took place on 3/24/16.  We are no longer accepting applications for Summer 2016***

For any questions, please contact Michael Strom, Assistant Coordinator of Jewish Service learning at The Partnership For Jewish Learning and Life, at MStrom@thepartnershipnj.org or call (973)929-2963.
