Every year we host our huge event of hands-on Jewish teen service called J-SERVE. 2017's event boasted the largest number of Jewish teens at our J-SERVE ever; We had 340 teens in attendance! This was due in no small part to the commitment of the dedicated teen leaders, our J-SERVE Ambassadors, who represented organizations from all over Greater MetroWest.
Following on last year’s success, we are asking every major Jewish teen organization (youth groups, synagogues, clubs, etc) to select one or two teens to serve as their J-Serve Ambassador(s). The nominee(s) that are selected should be reliable, able to represent your organization adequately, able to relay information back and forth, and excited to encourage other teens to participate in J-SERVE.
As Ambassadors, teens will serve as the critical link between the organization they represent and the J-Serve Committee planning team. The central role of J-Serve is to mobilize the entire Jewish teen population to become unified through the community building that comes from direct hands-on service enriched with Jewish learning. This task is only achievable if teen leaders from local Jewish synagogues, clubs, and programs come together to encourage their peers to engage in the event. J-Serve 2018 is targeting 300+ teens to come to Whippany NJ on Sunday, April 15 to perform 14 Jewish service learning projects.
Please understand by accepting this role, teens will be expected to attend J-Serve Committee meetings to help plan the day, and report back all information to your group. This commitment means that the teen will have to remain active with the organization they represent and also attend monthly meeting dates at 901 Rt 10, Whippany NJ for the J-Serve committee. The following is the schedule for this year:
