VolunTEENS

All projects are currently full. Please check JTEEN calendar for other volunteering opportunities.

As a VolunTEEN, you’ll join other teens to offer hands-on help to those in need. With this ongoing commitment, you’ll build relationships with those you’re assisting. 
Projects will take place on a monthly or bimonthly basis, from December through May.
  
Lifetown with Friendship Circle
Sunday, December 29th, Monday, January 20th , Monday, February 17th, Thursday, February 20th, and
Sunday, March 15th.  (Roughly 2 hours, times vary)

Spend some time helping out at Friendship Circle's Lifetown facility. Work and play along side children and people with special needs.
*Teens must be at least 14 years of age to participate in this specific project*

Homeless Solutions (Morris County)
1st Wednesday of each month, 6:50-8:30 p.m.

Help care for children (infants to 13-year-olds) while their parents attend workshops.
*Teens must be at least 14 years of age to participate in this specific project*
 
Lester Senior Housing (Morris County)
2nd and 4th Mondays of each month, 4-5 p.m.

Spend an hour with the clients at Lester Senior Housing. Activities could include board games, puzzles, computer help, or simply conversation.
(Open to teens in 7th grade and up)
 
Daughters of Israel (Essex County)
2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month, 4-5 p.m.

Form relationships with residents at Daughter of Israel nursing facility by either going from room to room with the treat cart, bringing candy and other treats to the residents, or helping in the gift shop. Eventually volunteers will spend time visiting with residents either at this time or after dinner at 6 p.m..
(Open to teens in 7th grade and up)
